This Privacy Policy describes how Every Story LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the Stop Writing! platform, website at stopwriting.com, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as information that is generated automatically when you use the Service.

Information You Provide

  • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide during registration.
  • Payment and Billing Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect payment details such as credit card number, billing address, and transaction history. Payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processor, and we do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
  • Creative Content: Any story ideas, character profiles, plot outlines, manuscripts, notes, or other creative material you enter into the Service (“Creative Content”).
  • Communications: Information you provide when you contact us for support, submit feedback, or otherwise communicate with us.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Technical Data: We automatically collect information about your device and usage, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, referring URLs, pages visited, features used, and timestamps of activity.
  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including the tools you use, session duration, and interaction patterns. This helps us improve the Service and understand how features are used.
  • Log Data: Our servers automatically record information when you access the Service, including your request details, system activity, and error reports.

2. How We Use Information

  • Operate and Maintain the Service: To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including processing your requests, delivering AI-assisted story development features, and ensuring the platform functions as intended.
  • Process Payments: To process subscription payments, manage billing, issue receipts, and handle refund requests.

With your consent, we may also send promotional communications about new features or updates. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time.

Our use of third-party services includes, but is not limited to, payment processing (Stripe), authentication providers, cloud hosting infrastructure, and AI model providers. Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy and data handling practices.

6. Creative Content & Confidentiality Principles

Your Creative Content remains yours. We do not claim ownership of any intellectual property you create or upload to the Service. You retain all rights, title, and interest in and to your Creative Content.

We treat your Creative Content as confidential. Access to your Creative Content is limited to the systems and personnel necessary to provide and maintain the Service. We do not review, share, or publish your Creative Content except as necessary to deliver the Service to you, or as required by law.

You may export or delete your Creative Content at any time through the Service. Upon account deletion, we will remove your Creative Content from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any retention required for legal or compliance purposes.

7. AI and Model Usage

The Service uses Anthropic’s Claude to provide story development coaching, feedback, and structured extraction features. Your Creative Content may be processed by Claude in order to deliver the functionality of the Service.

We do not use your Creative Content to train public or third-party AI models without your explicit consent. Conversations and content you provide to the Service are used solely to generate responses and deliver features within your account.

We may use aggregated, anonymized, and de-identified usage data (which does not include your Creative Content) to improve our products and services. Such data cannot reasonably be used to identify you or reconstruct your Creative Content.

8. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, regular security assessments, access controls, and secure development practices.

However, no method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account.
